From the 1960s, this regal parure of
bracelet, brooch and clip earrings, was inspired by the royal jewels of
India. Ornate silvertone curlicues contain sparkling rhinestones
and emerald green cabochons. The brooch has an especially deep cab

Schrager |
H. M. Schrager & Co. was
founded in 1925 with the main office in New York and ceased business
sometime after 1962. One of their most famous pieces,
the huge butterfly, is similar to and sometimes mistaken for the Staret
piece. Close inspection of the two designs will show the
differences in structure and stone usage. The company made jewelry
in the 1950s-60s which was marked Jonné. Earlier pieces are
uncommon, possibly due to smaller production than the larger jewelry
makers.

For more than 40 years
(1941-1980s) the Takahashi family produced hand-carved, hand-painted
wooden bird brooches with amazing detail and artistry. Not all
pieces are signed but they have a distinctive eye to each bird and
recognizable pin mechanism attachments. The larger birds are quite
rare and sought by collectors.

Takahashi Pheasant Brooch

Like all the Takahashi painted wooden
pieces, this colorful pheasant brooch shows superb detail and artistry.
The larger birds are very scarce and one reference cited the pheasant
pieces as 'priceless heirlooms'. This brooch is unsigned but has

Watson |
Originating in 1874 as Cobb & Gould, the
company became Watson & Newell under the leadership of Clarence Watson
and Fred Newell in 1894. Jewelry production continued and was
expanded to include other silver items after 1900, and the company was
eventually sold in 1955. The mark from the early 1900's is
an old English W flanked by a crown and a lion.
